Job summary

Schwan's Company in Ohio is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our food manufacturing team on the 3rd shift (10:00 pm–6:30 am). Starting pay is $35.00 per hour with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for advancement.

You will perform preventive maintenance and complex repairs on conveyor systems and production machinery, document work in SAP, and support setup and installation of equipment as needed. This role requires 3+ years of related experience and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2-year trade degree preferred.
• 3+ years of related maintenance experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyor systems and food production machinery to minimize downtime.
• Perform mechanical repairs including shaft keying, sprocket broaching, gear head replacement, stainless steel welding, hydraulic hose fabrication, and belt maintenance.
• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, welding, fabrication, and installation of plant machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical issues through observation and measurement tools and identify root causes.
• Use SAP to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and communicate with production teams.

What You Will Do:

• Conduct advanced preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyor systems and food production machinery to ensure reliable operation and minimize downtime.
• Perform complex mechanical repairs including shaft keying, sprocket broaching, gear head replacement, stainless steel welding, hydraulic hose fabrication, and belt maintenance using specialized tools and equipment.
• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, welding, fabrication, and installation of new or modified plant machinery to support production needs.
• Diagnose mechanical issues through observation, auditory assessment, and use of precision measuring instruments, and effectively identifying and resolving root causes.
• Utilize SAP software to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and communicate effectively with production and operations teams to optimize workflow.

What You Will Bring:

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• 3+ years of related experience.
• Work different ranges of hours such as full-time, overtime, or weekend shifts.
• Basic to advanced mechanical knowledge, electrical and building skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
