Job summary

Volvo Group in Kings Mountain, NC is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to support safe, continuous production by performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on plant machinery, tools, and facility systems. This role emphasizes troubleshooting and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, basic math, safety awareness, and experience with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; basic math and reading comprehension.
General understanding of industrial safety practices.
General knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems in a production setting.
Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals.
Experience with CMMS entry and recordkeeping.
Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Performs mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repairs on production equipment to maximize uptime.
Conducts routine preventive maintenance tasks to support safe operations.
Troubleshoots and repairs industrial automation systems and sensors to restore performance.
Collaborates with QA to verify weld quality and adjust systems as needed.
Installs and maintains hydraulic and pneumatic piping for automated processes respecting safety specs.
Reads blueprints and manuals to fabricate or assemble components and perform installations.
Operates forklifts and material handling equipment as part of maintenance tasks.
Uses precision instruments and shop tools for diagnostics and detailed work.
Ensures proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste per regulations.
Supports a clean, safe, team-oriented work environment by following policies.
