Job summary

Volvo Group in Grover, North Carolina is seeking a Maintenance Technician with PLC and robotics emphasis to support Kings Mountain Operations. You will perform mechanical overhauls, preventive maintenance, and debugging of automated lines, using PLC and robotic diagnostics to reduce downtime and sustain production targets.

The role requires hands-on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills, and the ability to read schematics and robot pendants.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with basic math and reading skills.
• Hands-on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting in an industrial setting.
• Ability to read PLC ladder logic and navigate robot pendants for basic diagnostics.
• Knowledge of lockout/tagout and machine guarding practices.
• Experience with CMMS entry and recordkeeping.
• Strong teamwork and communication in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical overhauls, repairs, and alignments on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components.
• Support PLC and robotic control diagnostics to minimize downtime.
• Carry out preventive maintenance tasks on machinery and tooling.
• Read mechanical and electrical schematics for installations and repairs.
• Operate material handling equipment as needed to move heavy components.
• Ensure safety compliance and environmental standards in daily tasks.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to verify welds, tolerances, and fit.
