Job summary

Canam Steel Corporation in Peru, IL is seeking a self-motivated machine operator for 2nd shift to join our production team. The role involves operating machine shop and roll forming press, adhering to safety policies, and supporting maintenance and labeling of products.

Overtime opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package are available. Starting pay is $19 per hour with a $2.00 shift differential on 2nd shift, plus additional bonuses and incentives described in the posting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead cranes and perform daily operator inspections.
• Attach appropriate labels and tags to products.
• Maintain work area and equipment in clean orderly condition.
• Work safely and follow company safety policies.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor including, but not limited to, cleaning, scrap removal and other tasks.
• Standing for most of shift.
• Frequent walking, using hands and fingers to handle objects, tools and controls.
• Frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching.
• Frequent use of close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and able to adjust focus.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

Job description

We are looking for self-motivated and safety-conscious candidates who would like to join our production team in Peru, IL.

New employees can earn $63K in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 50-hour work week.This includes the base rate, overtime, retention and production bonuses.

Machine Operator, 2nd Shift Monday-Friday 3:00 p.m.-11:30 p.m. Monday-Friday with possible overtime

SUMMARY

Perform machine shop and roll forming press operations on the production floor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Operate overhead cranes and perform daily operator inspections.

Anticipated Pay Range

$19 / hour + (2nd shift $2.00 shift differential)

Shift

1st shift: M-F 7:00am-3:30pm. (overtime on front end of shift, occasional Saturdays). 2nd shift: M-F 3:00pm-11:30pm with possible overtime
