Job summary

Caterpillar Hodges, SC seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment. The role requires proactive preventive maintenance on engines, motors, conveyors, and production machines to meet safety and reliability targets.

Responsibilities include analyzing improvements, performing corrective actions, CMMS record-keeping, and on-site collaboration with supervisors and external teams.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and repairs on manufacturing/facilities equipment (pneumatic, electrical, mechanical, conveyors, HVAC, fire systems).
• Knowledge of electrical (110-480VAC, 0-36VDC), PLCs, Controls, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics; foundry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive maintenance and analyze improvements based on observations.
• Participate in regular maintenance stops and corrective maintenance.
• Record incidents in CMMS and inform supervisors of repairs performed.
• Assist maintenance agents and external teams on-site as needed.
• Access technical information and coordinate with external suppliers as necessary.
• Support spare parts storeroom operations.

About Large Power Systems Division (LPSD):

We design and manufacture the most comprehensive lineup of large diesel and natural gas engines in the industry, as well as engine components and powertrains.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Hodges, SC facility. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes. This role requires a proactive individual who can complete preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines, etc.

What You Will Do (including but not limited to):

• Carry out preventive maintenance:
• Analyzing and effecting improvements on facilities because of observations made during preventive maintenance.
• Participating in regularly scheduled maintenance stops.
• Carry out corrective maintenance:
• analyze the malfunction and propose, then put into effect, the best solution. When a repair is done, the incumbent should inform the supervisor and/or production about availability of the equipment and immediately give the repair done.
• The incumbent records immediately the incident encountered in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
• Help maintenance agents and exterior companies as necessary, carrying out an intervention on-site, in agreement with supervisor.
• Be able to find technical information and contact external suppliers directly.
• Participate in smooth functioning of the spare parts storeroom.

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience working in a maintenance, mechanical, or electrical position (preferably in a heavy industrial environment)
• Manufacturing Safety: Knowledge and application of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site

Top Candidates Will Have:

• Associates degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or relevant program
• Preventative maintenance and repairs on various manufacturing and facilities equipment (pneumatic, electrical, mechanical, conveyor, HVAC systems, fire systems, etc.)
• Knowledge of Electrical (110-480VAC and 0-36VDC), PLC's, Controls, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and gas systems considered a plus
• Experience working in a foundry (Hodges is a cast iron foundry) is preferred
• Previous experience using Microsoft Office, ACAD, E-drawing, QAD, and Llumin is preferred
• Usage on manual, electrical, and pneumatic tools for repairs and diagnostics.

Additional Information:

• 2nd Shift: 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm
• This position is eligible for $.75 hourly shift premium.
• This is an on-site position in Hodges, SC.

Summary Pay Range:

$28.12 - $35.74
