Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Tech II in Sanford, NC. You will perform preventive and reparative maintenance on production equipment, respond to service requests, and ensure safety and code compliance while supporting weekends and plant shutdowns.

The role requires knowledge of CMMS, blueprint interpretation, and hands-on electrical installation skills, with a focus on reliability and safe operation in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years minimum of cumulative experience performing industrial maintenance in a manufacturing facility or equivalent certification.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and equipment diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on process/production equipment per CMMS schedule.

• Prepare and complete tasks per supervisor procedures.

As a Maintenance Tech II, your job duties will include, but may not be limited to:

• Performance of preventive maintenance on process/production equipment as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Respond to and provide service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tag out procedures and wearing PPE as required.
• Prepare/complete assigned tasks in conformance with applicable procedure requirements provided by the supervisor.
• Perform reparative maintenance on production equipment.
• Assist with electrical installations and repairs.

This is a unique role that will require work hours that vary from a typical schedule. There will be times when the successful candidate will be required to support activities and installations during weekends, holidays, and plant shutdowns.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 35 pounds for intervals of 15-30 minutes.
• Work at heights of up to 30 feet from the floor, work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures, and walk, squat and bend over for intervals of 15-30 minutes, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Skills Requirements:

• 2 years minimum of cumulative experience performing industrial maintenance, corrective, preventive, and testing in a manufacturing facility AND/OR relevant industry certification.

Desired Skills Requirements:

• Prior experience within a Caterpillar Facility.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and equipment diagrams.
• Safe and effective use of common maintenance tools (carpentry, plumbing, assembly, etc.).
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot, repair, and installation of manufacturing machine components.
• Experience utilizing CMMS.
• Understanding of and experience using electrical tools, materials and safety practices.

Shift Schedules:

2nd Shift - M-F 2:15 PM - 10:15 PM

Role requires overtime as needed to support business needs

Starting pay rates:

2nd Shift - $29.38/hour (includes 8% shift premium)

Summary Pay Range:

$27.20 - $33.95
