Job summary

Aiken Regional Medical Centers, located in Aiken, South Carolina, is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to perform a variety of routine to skilled general preventative maintenance duties, repairing and modifying building, equipment and systems. You will maintain boilers, HVAC systems, gas and vacuum utilities, keep maintenance records, and support hospital operations.

Requires 1–2 years general maintenance experience and a high school diploma; driver’s license required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of general maintenance experience. Knowledge of general mechanics, electrical and plumbing codes.
  • Driver’s License Required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain routine records and determine malfunctions, repair or replace parts, and test operation.
  • Maintain gas fire steam boilers and adjust for proper operation and safety devices.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment.
  • Perform general mechanical maintenance on kitchen equipment and boiler room equipment; maintain records of maintenance.
  • Maintain gases to facility such as oxygen, nitrogen and vacuum systems.
  • Assist with performing preventative maintenance on all HVAC equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Description

Performs a variety of routing to skilled general preventative maintenance duties to include repairing, altering and modifying building, equipment and systems.

Duties
  • Maintain routine records and determines type and extent of malfunctions of equipment and, as necessary, adjust, disassemble, repair or replace parts or components then reassembles and tests for proper operation.
  • Maintains gas fire steam boilers and makes necessary adjustments to ensure proper steam pressure, combustion, water flow, water level and proper operation of safety devices.
  • Assists with the preventative maintenance on heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Performs general mechanical maintenance to kitchen equipment, boiler room equipment, etc. to include complete all maintenance records of equipment.
  • Maintains all gases to facility such as oxygen, nitrogen and vacuum systems needed for daily operation of the hospital.
  • Assists with performing preventative maintenance on all HVAC equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned/required.
