A Day in the Life:

Maintenance Technician II performs maintenance activities including but not limited to equipment, buildings, grounds, utilities, and other devices on a 24/7 schedule to ensure the safety and efficiency of the corn milling operation, complying with food safety and process quality standards. Responsibilities include electrical and mechanical maintenance on equipment such as variable frequency drives, augers, elevators, belts, and compressors. The role involves constructing, repairing, installing, and removing various machines, equipment, and piping. Willingness to work overtime and respond to call-in work is required. The technician supports the Maintenance team to provide 24/7 coverage as per the schedule provided by Maintenance Supervision.

• Rotating 12-hour shifts (days and nights), 3.5 days per week.
• On-call availability required.
• Competitive hourly rate: $26.91.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Ensuring safe operation and demonstrating safe work habits and behaviors, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Adhering to all Safety and Food Safety guidelines, company rules, policies, and good manufacturing practices.
• Reading and interpreting drawings and layouts.
• Setting up and operating equipment necessary for all functions of the craft.
• Installing, maintaining, replacing, or removing equipment and machines or other production and maintenance devices.
• Performing repairs and checks on machines and equipment for correct operation.
• Carrying out electrical and mechanical operations for construction, installation, repair, and operation of plant equipment and devices.
• Working in all plant areas, including indoors, outdoors, confined spaces, and at heights with proper PPE.
• Testing and repairing electrical circuits, components, or systems.
• Maintaining general area housekeeping.
• Ensuring compliance with product specifications and proper handling.
• Inspecting equipment and tanks according to safety and operational procedures.
• Committing to safe food supply, maintaining a food safety culture, and complying with customer and regulatory requirements.
• Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Completion of an apprenticeship or 3 years of equivalent electrical maintenance experience preferred.
• Electrician training and certification (Ark flash/High voltage) preferred.
• Basic computer hardware and software knowledge.
• LOTO training and experience required.
• Ability to read and understand SOPs, prints, and manuals.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Proficiency in driving a forklift.
• Proficiency in reading and writing in English for record keeping and training.
• Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and good communication skills.
• Ability to work safely in a safety-conscious environment.
