Job summary

Carolina Industrial Staffing is recruiting a Maintenance Technician II for a manufacturing plant in Northeast Columbia, SC. The role installs, troubleshoots and maintains production machinery to support safety and productivity goals.

Shifts are 1st 5am-4:30pm and 2nd 3:30pm-2am, Monday-Thursday. Pay is $30/hour, potentially more with experience. Requires a high school diploma/GED and three years of machining experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years of machining experience required.
• Ability to pass a 10-panel urine drug screen and nationwide background check.

Responsibilities

• Performs diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and plant equipment.
• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and performs scheduled maintenance.
• Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC systems.
• Reads manuals, schematics, and work orders to perform maintenance and service.
• Diagnoses problems, replaces parts, tests, and adjusts equipment.
• Performs regular preventive maintenance and maintains a safe, clean work area.
• Supports lean, 5S, and value stream initiatives as part of continuous improvement.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

theMaintenanceTechnician II installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productivemaintenancesystems and processes to support the achievement of thebusinesses goals and objectives.

Shift

• 1st Shift: 5am - 4:30pm, Monday - Thursday
• 2nd Shift: 3:30pm - 2am, Monday - Thursday

Pay

• $30/hour, potentially more depending on experience.
• Paid weekly via direct deposit or company issued pay card.

Job Duties

• Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduledmaintenancerepairs of production equipment during machine service.
• Performs mechanical skills including but limited to mechanical, electrical, HVAC, pneumatic, hydraulic, Programmable Logic Controllersand Ladder Logic. Troubleshoots and repairs production machines.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals, schematics, electrical drawings and work orders to perform requiredmaintenanceand service.
• Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests, and makes adjustments.
• Performs regular preventivemaintenanceon machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
• Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work area.
• Engages in activities that create a continuous improvement environment: sustains lean processes, suggests areas of improvement in quality, cost, delivery, and safety, and actively supports lean, 5S, and value stream management initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.

Primary Experience Requirements

Three years of machining experience with increasing complexity and responsibility is required.

Skills and Competencies

Allemployees are expected to demonstrate accountability, collaboration, communication, customer focus, and innovation. Additional requirements of this position include:

• Ability to interpret prints and schematics.
• Ability to understand and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, mechanical systems, PLCs, and Ladder Logic.
• Ability to detect differences in the color of wires in order to perform necessary machine and facility maintenance.
