Job description

The Maintenance Technician II performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures. Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs facilities' mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications, and safety policies. Develops, maintains, and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools. Recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies as required. Assists Maintenance Lead in developing methods and procedures to improve facility efficiency and workflow. Oversees and reviews the work of lower-level technicians.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Locate, identify, and resolve safety issues with mechanical or electrical devices.
2. Proactively investigate needs, evaluate issues, and present/recommend alternatives to decrease overall facility operational downtime, thus increasing operational effectiveness.
3. Develop and maintain purchasing/inventory controls for repair parts and tool inventories.
4. Support existing and future projects during installations, start-up, and long-term operation.
5. Support daily/weekly asset usage.
6. Assist in daily/weekly training of warehouse personnel.
7. Assist with special projects as directed by management.
8. Continuously seek to improve existing methods of operation through research and development.
9. Plan and execute activities for corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance.

EXPERIENCE

• 3-5 years of experience in general maintenance machine operations, facility maintenance, and maintenance for high-volume conveying systems, etc.
• 3 years of experience in PLC and advanced electrical operational maintenance/repair.
• Experience in high-volume conveying operations, water systems, large-volume washers, motors, electrical, PLC controls.
• Previous experience with welding, pipe installation/repair, and heating/boiler units.
• Experience with general facility maintenance functions including doors, offices, forklifts, etc.

SKILLS

• 3-5 years of experience in general maintenance machine operations, facility maintenance, and maintenance for high-volume conveying systems, etc.
• 3 years of experience in PLC and advanced electrical operational maintenance/repair.
• Experience in high-volume conveying operations, water systems, large-volume washers, motors, electrical, PLC controls.
• Previous experience with welding, pipe installation/repair, and heating/boiler units.
• Experience with general facility maintenance functions including doors, offices, forklifts, etc.
