Job summary

BRG Realty Group, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician for in-person work across our communities in Kentucky. The role involves plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC and general repairs to meet safety and appearance standards for residents.

Applicants should have 2+ years in maintenance, EPA/HVAC certification, a valid driver's license, and private transport for site visits. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered, with opportunities for growth and benefits included.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years maintenance experience.
• EPA/HVAC certified per requirement.
• On-call rotation ability a must.
• Driver's license and auto insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Repair, replace or install plumbing fixtures and components.
• Repair, replace or install electrical switches, outlets and lighting.
• Perform HVAC maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs (EPA certified).
• Conduct drywall repairs and minor painting touch-ups.
• Perform appliance repair and installation as needed.
• Carry out preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, and safety systems.
• Participate in seasonal maintenance and pool-related tasks.
• Ensure health and safety systems and detectors are functional.

Job Purpose:

To assist the Community Manager or Supervisor in completing any tasks that ensure the community meets the appearance, operational, and safety standards as set forth by BRG Apartments, and federal, state and local laws. This includes responding quickly and professionally to resident requests for service, troubleshooting, and taking appropriate corrective action.

Examples of work:

• Plumbing: repair, replace or install faucets, pipes, hot water tanks, toilets, garbage disposals, dishwashers, water-dispensing refrigerators, or washing machines
• Electrical: repair, replace or install power switches, fuses, wall sockets, ceiling lights, ceiling fans, climate control systems, or garage doors openers
• Drywall repair: fill holes caused by nails, minor dings from normal wear and tear most commonly performed between the time a tenant vacates a unit and a new renter assumes occupancy or larger holes caused by damage
• HVAC: maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, must have EPA certification
• Painting: minor touch-ups following damage repair to new coats of paint applied to unit walls in between residents
• Appliance repair: repair, replace or install household appliances, such as refrigerators, dishwashers, range ovens, washers and dryers, hot water tanks, and air conditioners
• Preventative maintenance: perform maintenance to heating and air-conditioning systems, plumbing fixtures, sprinkler system, smoke detector and fire extinguishers
• Seasonal maintenance: swimming pool opening procedures, daily maintenance, and end of season close down procedures
• Health and safety maintenance (such as sprinkler systems or smoke detectors)
• Install locks
• A minimum of 2 years previous maintenance experience
• Must be able to participate in the on-call rotation
