Job summary

BRG Realty Group, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our on-site team across properties in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. You will assist the Community Manager in maintaining appearance, safety, and operations, and respond quickly to resident service requests.

The role covers plumbing, electrical, drywall, HVAC with EPA certification, painting, appliance repair and preventive maintenance. A minimum of 2 years’ experience and a valid driver’s license are required; on-call rotation is

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years maintenance experience.
• EPAHVAC certification required for HVAC work.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Must be able to participate in on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Repair, replace or install plumbing fixtures, pipes, hot water tanks, toilets, disposals, and appliances.
• Repair, replace or install electrical switches, outlets, lights, and garage door openers.
• Patch drywall and perform minor drywall repairs as needed.
• Perform HVAC maintenance, troubleshoot and repair with EPA HVAC knowledge.
• Paint touch-ups and general maintenance tasks between residents.

Job Purpose:

To assist the Community Manager or Supervisor in completing any tasks that ensure the community meets the appearance, operational, and safety standards as set forth by BRG Apartments, and federal, state and local laws. This includes responding quickly and professionally to resident requests for service, troubleshooting, and taking appropriate corrective action.

Examples of work:

• Plumbing: repair, replace or install faucets, pipes, hot water tanks, toilets, garbage disposals, dishwashers, water-dispensing refrigerators, or washing machines
• Electrical: repair, replace or install power switches, fuses, wall sockets, ceiling lights, ceiling fans, climate control systems, or garage doors openers
• Drywall repair: fill holes caused by nails, minor dings from normal wear and tear most commonly performed between the time a tenant vacates a unit and a new renter assumes occupancy or larger holes caused by damage
• HVAC: maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, must have EPA certification
• Painting: minor touch-ups following damage repair to new coats of paint applied to unit walls in between residents
• Appliance repair: repair, replace or install household appliances, such as refrigerators, dishwashers, range ovens, washers and dryers, hot water tanks, and air conditioners
• Preventative maintenance: perform maintenance to heating and air-conditioning systems, plumbing fixtures, sprinkler system, smoke detector and fire extinguishers
• Seasonal maintenance: swimming pool opening procedures, daily maintenance, and end of season close down procedures
• Health and safety maintenance (such as sprinkler systems or smoke detectors)
• Install locks
• A minimum of 2 years previous maintenance experience
• Must be able to participate in the on-call rotation

• Employees must have private, reliable transportation to travel to various job sites throughout the day.
• A valid driver’s license and current auto insurance are mandatory.
• The ability to travel for periods of time, including daily and weekly commitments, is essential for effectively fulfilling various duties.
