Job summary

BRG Realty Group, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support apartment communities across Kentucky and nearby states. The role involves plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC work to keep units and common areas in top condition.

You will assist the Community Manager and collaborate with a team in a fast-paced environment, with on-call rotation and a $1,000 signing bonus. A driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience.
• EPA certification for HVAC is required.
• Experience with plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general repairs desired.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Ability to participate in on‑call rotation and travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Respond quickly and professionally to resident service requests.
• Troubleshoot and perform corrective actions on repairs.
• Repair, replace or install plumbing fixtures and appliances.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical and building systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and safety checks across properties.

Job Purpose:

To assist the Community Manager or Supervisor in completing any tasks that ensure the community meets the appearance, operational, and safety standards as set forth by BRG Apartments, and federal, state and local laws. This includes responding quickly and professionally to resident requests for service, troubleshooting, and taking appropriate corrective action.

Examples of work:

• Plumbing: repair, replace or install faucets, pipes, hot water tanks, toilets, garbage disposals, dishwashers, water‑dispensing refrigerators, or washing machines
• Electricity: repair, replace or install power switches, fuses, wall sockets, ceiling lights, ceiling fans, climate control systems, or garage doors openers
• Drywall repair: fill holes caused by nails, minor dings from normal wear and tear most commonly performed between the time a tenant vacates a unit and a new renter assumes occupancy or larger holes caused by damage
• HVAC: maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, must have EPA certification
• Painting: minor touch‑ups following damage repair to new coats of paint applied to unit walls in between residents
• Appliance repair: repair, replace or install household appliances, such as refrigerators, dishwashers, range ovens, washers and dryers, hot water tanks, and air conditioners
• Preventative maintenance: perform maintenance to heating and air‑conditioning systems, plumbing fixtures, sprinkler system, smoke detector and fire extinguishers
• Seasonal maintenance: swimming pool opening procedures, daily maintenance, and end of season close down procedures
• Health and safety maintenance (such as sprinkler systems or smoke detectors)
• Install locks
• A minimum of 2 years previous maintenance experience
• Must be able to participate in the on‑call rotation

• The ability to travel for periods of time, including daily and weekly commitments, is essential for effectively fulfilling various duties.
