Job summary

UniFirst seeks a reliable Maintenance Tech I in Elderton, PA to perform repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment. Monday–Friday schedule with periodic overtime; on‑the‑job training provided.

You will use hand/power tools, follow blueprints, inspect boilers and electrical/hydraulic systems, and troubleshoot equipment with precision instruments. A strong safety mindset and ability to lift up to 80 lbs are required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Two-year technical degree preferred.
Must pass UniFirst's maintenance knowledge assessment test to be eligible for employment.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics is required.
Lockout/Tagout experience is required.
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices.
Ensure safe operation of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and components.
Follow blueprints, schematics, operation manuals, and engineers' specifications.
Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment testing and adjust chemicals accordingly.
Perform daily and weekly safety checks on boilers and make necessary repairs.
Record and analyze utility meter readings and take corrective actions when needed.
Inspect and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts per procedures.
Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
