Job summary

UniFirst in Indiana is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team. You will perform repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, read blueprints, and participate in safety checks as part of daily operations.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with safe driving record.
• Must pass UniFirst maintenance knowledge assessment.
• Ability to read blueprints/schematics.
• Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills.
• Lockout/Tagout experience.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and components.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, operation manuals, and manufacturer instructions.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision instruments.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment system testing and adjust as required.
• Perform daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and address repairs.
• Record and analyze utility meter readings and take corrective actions.
• Conduct daily/weekly location/system safety checks; inspect motors, belts, fluids, replace filters.
• Inspect, clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts per procedures.
• Use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and perform other duties as assigned.
