Job summary

WinnCompanies is seeking a Maintenance Technician I for an affordable housing community in Kansas City, MO. The role covers maintenance across rental units, common areas, offices, grounds and parking lots, with on-call rotation for off-hours and emergencies.

The ideal candidate has limited hands-on experience but broad basic knowledge in electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC, plus strong customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
• General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
• Availability for on-call activity during off hours.
• Ability to speak and understand basic English.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs in areas such as appliances, carpentry, hardware, masonry, painting, basic electrical, basic plumbing, and basic HVAC.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs per company procedures.
• Assist in preparing vacant apartments for market-ready status.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping and trash management.
• Be available for on-call activity during off-hours and emergencies.
