Job summary

Dwelling Place Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to maintain and repair the physical structures of apartment buildings and grounds. The role supports Property Management and reports to the Property Manager.

The position requires on-call responsibilities and strict safety and security practices on site. Primary duties include handling work orders, inspections, inventory control, and assisting in coordinating with staff and contractors.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
• Requires ability to follow safety procedures and work independently.
• Must be self-directed and reliable with time management.
• Must have a valid Michigan Driver’s License and be willing to transport tools.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance work orders in priority order including emergencies, on-call, and routine repairs.
• Inspects property for improvements and unsafe conditions and reports to supervisor.
• Keeps maintenance materials inventory and maintains equipment.
• Maintains clean work areas and safe surroundings; snow removal when needed.
• Assists staff and contractors; maintains property security and access control.
