Job summary

Schneider Electric in El Paso, TX seeks a Maintenance Associate I to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance on production and facilities equipment, troubleshoot issues and improve equipment reliability while upholding safety policies.

The role requires hands-on skills with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics and basic electrical repair, plus the ability to read drawings, write repair reports, and work with others.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics and basic electrical repair.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings.
• Ability to write detailed repair reports and strong verbal communication.
• Welding – Basic welding capacity.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• English language proficiency (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned jobs in a timely manner.
• Repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment such as conveyors, compressors, and pumps.
• Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc.
• Perform work order repairs, inspections and adjustments.
• Able to set up and operate welders, drill press, grinder, hand tools and other metal working equipment.
• Fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment.
• Test assigned equipment after repair to ensure safety and operation.
• Participates in plant safety, health and environmental programs.
