Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission in San Antonio is hiring a Maintenance Specialist I to perform entry-level building maintenance and construction work. You will assist in maintaining and repairing buildings, utility systems, and equipment, and operate motorized equipment. This role requires driving a state-owned vehicle.

The normal schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with potential overtime and inclusion in an emergency response team.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent.
• Ability to follow instructions and work from drawings or diagrams.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, construction, and repair work such as carpentry, painting, or mechanical tasks.
• Operate and maintain motorized vehicles and equipment.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and utility systems.
