Job summary

The Hillman Group is seeking a maintenance technician for a full-time, second-shift role in Tyler, TX. Responsibilities include installing, troubleshooting, and repairing a range of equipment to support manufacturing, packaging, and distribution operations.

Shift hours are 2:30 PM–10:00 PM, with overtime possible depending on operations. Education required is an associate degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or equivalent.

Qualifications

  • Typical education required: associate degree, Military, or Civilian Equivalent in Industrial Maintenance Technology.
  • 1–3 years related experience in maintenance or manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve complex operating problems in a timely manner and report other problems to Supervisor.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on multiple production systems in and around the facility.
  • Perform mechanical calibrations and alignments during maintenance on equipment.
  • Test and modify operational machinery and control equipment as needed.
  • Complete daily maintenance reports accurately and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Job Summary

Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs a variety of equipment and machinery to support manufacturing, packaging, and distribution operations. Diagnoses problems and recommends solutions. This is a full‑time, second‑shift position. Regular hours are Monday through Thursday, 2:30 PM – 10:00 AM. Overtime may be required based on operational needs.

Essential Job Functions
  • Uses knowledge and experience to resolve complex operating problems in a timely manner; reports other problems to Supervisor. Typical items include repairing various electrical, vacuum, mechanical, and pneumatic systems; performing mechanical calibrations and alignments; assembling and testing motor‑control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, solenoids, and other machinery‑related equipment.
  • Perform general and preventative maintenance of multiple production systems in and around the facility.
  • Perform mechanical calibrations and alignments during preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Apply related knowledge to test and/or modify operational machinery and control equipment.
  • Accurately complete daily maintenance reports.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment and conserve resources by using equipment and supplies to accomplish job results without waste.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures; report unsafe conditions to Supervisor.

Education & Experience
  • Typical education required: associate degree, Military, or Civilian Equivalent in Industrial Maintenance Technology.

  • One to three years related experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible and able to quickly shift priorities as needed.
  • Able to work from verbal and written instructions.
Work Environment

Office: office setting. Seldom exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Loud working environment of the shop area. Functional vision and hearing required.

Physical Demands

Office: sedentary.
