Job summary

Schwan's is seeking a Packaging/Production Maintenance Technician for a full-time night shift in Salina, Kansas. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment to keep lines running and minimize downtime.

You will follow food safety rules, handle emergency repairs, manage spare parts, and work safely under OSHA guidelines, with a strong emphasis on keeping the facility clean and compliant.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; two-year maintenance trade degree preferred.
• Experience in maintenance of production equipment is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance documents.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment to keep lines running and minimize downtime.
• Follow food safety rules and use appropriate cleaning procedures around production areas.
• Handle emergency repairs quickly to minimize downtime.
• Manage spare parts and tools inventory to ensure availability for repairs.
• Work safely, follow OSHA regulations, and keep work area clean and compliant.

Starting Pay: $25.00 per hour
Additional $2.00 shift differential from 3 p.m. -- 6 a.m.
Shift: 3rd
Hours: 11:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.

What You Will Do:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment like conveyors, mixers, ovens, and packaging machines to keep production running smooth and prevent breakdowns.
• Follow food safety rules when working around production areas, using the right cleaning procedures and food-grade materials to keep everything up to code.
• Handle emergency repairs when equipment breaks down during production, getting things back up and running as fast as possible to minimize downtime.
• Manage spare parts and tools inventory to make sure you've got what you need when equipment needs fixing or upgrading.
• Always working safely, following OSHA regulations and keeping your area clean and in line with company rules.

What You Will Bring:

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• Minimum of 0 to 2 years of related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety documents, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to complete work orders and enter the required paperwork into a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
