Job summary

The Swan Food Company in Salina, KS is seeking a maintenance technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment such as conveyors, mixers, ovens, and packaging machines to keep operations running smoothly.

You will follow food safety rules, manage spare parts, handle emergency repairs, and ensure OSHA compliance while keeping your area clean and safe.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• 0–2 years of related maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety documents, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to complete work orders and enter required paperwork into a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment like conveyors, mixers, ovens, and packaging machines to keep production running smooth and prevent breakdowns.
• Follow food safety rules when working around production areas, using the right cleaning procedures and food-grade materials to keep everything up to code.
• Handle emergency repairs when equipment breaks down during production, getting things back up and running as fast as possible to minimize downtime.
• Manage spare parts and tools inventory to make sure you've got what you need when equipment needs fixing or upgrading.
• Always working safely, following OSHA regulations and keeping your area clean and in line with company rules.

Starting Pay: $25.00 per hour
Additional $2.00 shift differential from 3 p.m. -- 6 a.m.
Shift: 1st
Hours: 6:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
