Job summary

CJ Schwan's is seeking a Bakery Maintenance technician in Salina, KS for 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.). Starting pay is $25.00 per hour with a $2.00 shift differential from 3 p.m.

to 6 a.m. This full-time role operates in a food manufacturing environment with opportunities for advancement. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyors, mixers, ovens, and packaging machines, ensuring food safety rules are followed and downtime is minimized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• 0–2 years of related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety documents, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to complete work orders and enter required paperwork into a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment to keep operations running smoothly.
• Follow food safety rules in production areas and use food-grade materials.
• Handle emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
• Manage spare parts and tools inventory for equipment upkeep.
• Work safely, follow OSHA regulations, and keep area clean.

What You Will Do

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment like conveyors, mixers, ovens, and packaging machines to keep production running smooth and prevent breakdowns.
• Follow food safety rules when working around production areas, using the right cleaning procedures and food-grade materials to keep everything up to code.
• Handle emergency repairs when equipment breaks down during production, getting things back up and running as fast as possible to minimize downtime.
• Manage spare parts and tools inventory to make sure you've got what you need when equipment needs fixing or upgrading.
• Always working safely, following OSHA regulations and keeping your area clean and in line with company rules.

What You Will Bring
