Job summary

CJ Schwan's is seeking a Facilities Maintenance professional to lead maintenance on conveyors and production machinery, ensuring continuous and efficient plant operations.

We require a high school diploma or GED, 5+ years of related experience, and strong mechanical and electrical skills including CNC programming and welding. This role involves lifting up to 50 lbs and offers a comprehensive benefits package in a food-manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; two-year degree in a specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience; operating knowledge of machine shop equipment, CNC programming and welding experience preferred.
• Advanced mechanical knowledge with electrical and building skills; experience with high-speed manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of conveyor systems and production machinery to keep plant operations running smoothly.
• Perform major equipment repairs, fabrication, construction, and installation projects, including welding to food-safe standards and precise mechanical assembly.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues through inspection, use of precision tools, and reading mechanical schematics.
• Fabricate and maintain plant components using lathes, metal sheers, benders, and welding equipment.
• Train production teams on maintenance best practices to reduce downtime and ensure safety and operational compliance.

Starting Pay: $25.75 per hour
Additional $2.00 shift differential from 3 p.m. -- 6 a.m.
Shift: 1st
Hours: 6:00 - 3:30 p.m.

What You Will Do

• Lead preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of conveyor systems and production machinery to ensure continuous, efficient plant operations.
• Execute major equipment repairs, fabrication, construction, and installation projects, including welding to food‑safe standards and precise mechanical assembly.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues through detailed inspection, use of precision measuring tools, and interpretation of mechanical schematics.
• Fabricate and maintain critical plant components such as guards, doors, steps, shafts, sprockets, and mounting brackets using lathes, metal sheers, benders, and welding equipment.
• Provide training and guidance to production teams on maintenance best practices to reduce downtime and ensure compliance with safety and operational protocols.

What You Will Bring

• High school diploma or GED; two‑year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience. Operating knowledge of machine shop related equipment, CNC programming and welding experience preferred.
• Advanced mechanical knowledge, electrical and basic to advanced building skills
• Experience with high‑speed manufacturing equipment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
