Job summary

CJ Schwan’s is hiring a Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.) in Salina, KS. Starting pay is $25.00 per hour with a $2.00 shift differential for hours from 3 p.m.

to 6 a.m. This full-time role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance of production equipment in a food manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include ensuring food safety compliance, performing emergency repairs, managing spare parts, and maintaining a clean, safe work area following OSHA

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• Minimum of 0 to 2 years of related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety documents, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to complete work orders and enter the required paperwork into a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment like conveyors, mixers, ovens, and packaging machines to keep production running smooth and prevent breakdowns.
• Follow food safety rules when working around production areas, using the right cleaning procedures and food-grade materials to keep everything up to code.
• Handle emergency repairs when equipment breaks down during production, getting things back up and running as fast as possible to minimize downtime.
• Manage spare parts and tools inventory to make sure you've got what you need when equipment needs fixing or upgrading.
• Always working safely, following OSHA regulations and keeping your area clean and in line with company rules.
