Job summary

Mohawk Industries, Inc. in Rome, GA is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to service and maintain production machines in heatset, operate forklifts, and perform preventive maintenance on equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial equipment.
• Ability to operate equipment including lift trucks.
• Ability to work overtime and holidays.
• Able to work in high-noise, non-climate-controlled facilities.
• Ability to follow SOPs and attend training.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain production machines in heatset.
• Be able to operate all equipment and machinery.
• Provides own tools.
• Work holidays as required.
• Work extended hours and overtime when needed.
• Perform electrical maintenance.
• Welding.
• Filling propane tanks.
• Operate lift trucks and lift devices.
• Checking mechanics of lift truck.
• Will be responsible for conducting preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Will be responsible for meeting deadlines when repairing equipment.
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision.
• Follow all established standard operating procedures.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management.
• Lifting, pushing, and pulling objects such as boxes, pallets, motors, pumps, etc.
• Working around fans.
• Mounting and dismounting forklifts.
• Using electrical tools.
• Work in high-density noise areas.
• Work in an environment that is noisy, non-climate-controlled facilities, and high traffic production floor.
• Must be able to work around moving machine parts.
• Must be able to sit, stand, reach, bend and twist without restrictions.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
