Job summary

Mohawk Industries, Inc. in Thomasville, NC is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform reactive and preventative maintenance on precision manufacturing equipment.

You will diagnose issues and implement improvements to keep production running smoothly. You will work with automated production equipment, pumps, bearings, gears and electrical/mechanical drawings, ensuring adherence to safety procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years experience in maintenance of a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with automated production equipment a plus.
• Experience in installation and maintenance of pumps, bearings, pulleys, belts, chains, gearboxes, bushings, etc.

Responsibilities

• Services, repairs, adjustments and tests various machinery, devices and equipment related to the manufacturing process.
• Ability to learn production equipment processes and operations to aid in machine troubleshooting and operation support.
• Collaborates on preventative maintenance planning and executes on tasks with limited supervision.
• Identifies warning signs of impending equipment failure in order to assist with parts ordering.
• Complies with all company safety rules and procedures; identifies, advises and implements safety improvements.
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision.
• Follow all established standard operating procedures.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management.

What You Have:

High School Diploma or equivalentrequired

5+years experiencein maintenance of a manufacturing environmentpreferred,experience with automated production equipment a plus

Experienceininstallation and maintenance of variousimplements, such as pumps, bearings, pulleys, belts, chains, gearboxes, bushings,etc.

Intermediate experience with PLC’s, VFD’s and computers

Ability to work with automation, production, and computer systems

Effective communication skills to convey necessary information to fellowtechnicians, line operators,theAutomation Team,managers,and plant leadership

Ability to work both independently and within a team setting, including communication with various other Departments via radio, phone, and in-person conversations.

What Else?

This position requires the team member to work with machinery in an environment where there may be regular exposure to noise from machinery, variable temperatures, andadditionaldepartment-specific variables.Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will berequired, and may include hearing protection, safety shoes, high-visibility clothing, and eye protection.

Other working conditions may include working12 hourshifts and a fixed shift rotation, including holidays.

Must be able tolift upto 50lbs.;walking, bending, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs arerequired.
