Job summary

Mohawk Industries, Inc. is seeking an Electromechanical Technician (EMT) to provide mechanical and electrical support for MDF board production. You will help ensure efficiency, quality and safety on the production floor in Mount Gilead, NC.

The role requires an Associate degree or equivalent industrial experience, plus hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting of hydraulics, pneumatics, 480V drives and PLC logic. Join a Fortune 500 global flooring leader with strong brand portfolio.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in industrial/manufacturing technology or equivalent experience.
• Formal training and practical experience in an industrial setting as a Production Technician.
• Experience with high pressure hydraulics, pneumatics, automated material handling, 480VAC VFDs, and PLC control logic troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Complies with all company safety rules and procedures.
• Monitors and reacts in a timely manner to routine demand maintenance requirements.
• Participates in routine Preventive/Predictive Maintenance.
• Troubleshoots equipment stoppages and reacts accordingly.
• Utilizes various mechanical and electrical test equipment.
• Assists with manufacturing during product change-over.
• Plans, assists, documents, and implements process improvement techniques and devices.
• Utilizes machining, electrical and mechanical trade skills to complete daily tasks.
• Communicates with production and other customers as needed.
• Attend training deemed necessary by supervision.
• Follow all established standard operating procedures.
• Perform general housekeeping duties.
• Support evolving business priorities.

What you have:

• Associate’s degree in applied technology in industrial/manufacturing or equivalent experience
• Formal training and practical experience in an industrial setting as a Production Technician
• Experience with high pressure hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated material handling utilizing 480vac VFD’s, and PLC control logic troubleshooting
