Job summary

Mohawk Industries is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the Wood & Laminate division. This role is a key member of the Facilities Maintenance team, responsible for planning and executing tasks to maintain and improve the facility.

You will adhere to safety policies, perform general repairs, and support preventative maintenance on lighting, machinery, and office equipment while collaborating with team members to ensure clean, safe, and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
• Welding and machine shop experience is a plus.
• Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Perform general facility repairs (walls, doors, ceilings, restrooms).
• Assist with installation, repair, and maintenance of: lighting, production equipment, office equipment, furniture, and workstations.
• Support preventative maintenance such as servicing, adjusting, repairing, and installing machinery.
• Collaborate with team to repair or remove machines and components.
• Inspect and maintain roofing, dust collection systems, eye wash stations, boilers, and air systems.
• Maintain facility grounds and structures; perform interior/exterior upkeep including painting and pressure washing.

What We Need

Mohawk is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the Mohawk Wood & Laminate division. This role is a key member of the Facilities Maintenance team, responsible for helping plan and execute tasks critical to maintaining and improving the facility.

What You’ll Do

• Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Perform general facility repairs, including walls, doors, ceilings, and restrooms.
• Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of:
• Production area lighting
• Production and safety equipment
• Office equipment, furniture, and workstations
• Support preventative maintenance activities such as servicing, adjusting, repairing, and installing machinery.
• Collaborate with team members to repair or remove machines, machine parts, and minor electrical components.
• Inspect, monitor, and maintain:
• Roofing systems and rooftop equipment
• Dust collection systems
• Eye wash stations
• Boilers, air compressors, and other facility systems
• Maintain facility grounds and structures, ensuring they remain clean, orderly, and free of debris.
• Assist with interior and exterior upkeep, including painting, pressure washing, and minor landscaping.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

What You Have

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1-3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Welding and machine shop experience preferred; certification is a plus.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office

• Ability to operate and troubleshoot equipment and systems
• Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings
• Strong mathematical aptitude
• Effective communication skills across all organizational levels
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently

• Ability to lift 50-80 lbs multiple times throughout the shift
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, push, pull, and reach for extended periods
• Ability to work 8–12hour shifts
