The Milwaukee Rescue Mission is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician I to maintain two campuses in Milwaukee. This role performs repairs and general maintenance on facilities, grounds, and equipment to ensure a clean, safe environment for staff, guests, students and visitors.

The primary site is North Campus, with duties at both locations as needed. The position offers a competitive hiring range of $26.97–$28.46 per hour, full-time first shift, and benefits.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I

The Milwaukee Rescue Mission is seeking an experienced full-time Maintenance Technician to serve at our two campuses in Milwaukee. This position performs repair and general maintenance of facilities, grounds, and equipment to provide a clean, orderly, and safe environment for staff, guests, students and visitors. The primary location for this position is our North Campus, but this position will work at both locations as needed.

Hiring Range: $26.97-$28.46 hourly

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time, 1st shift, Monday-Friday

PRIMARY LOCATION:

North Campus – 1530 W Center Street, Milwaukee, WI 53206

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform repair or general maintenance work including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, and painting
• Prioritize and respond to maintenance requests in a timely, professional manner
• Assist the Facilities Manager in proactively identifying and assessing common building-related issues
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and other tasks as directed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• 3 years previous building maintenance or related experience strongly preferred
• Strong working knowledge of common building systems, structures, and appliances
• Proven experience in operating a variety of equipment, hand tools, and power tools
• Must be able to handle physical workload – capable of continuously standing, walking, stair climbing, reaching, handling and gripping without difficulty, repetitive movement of both hands and arms, as well as frequent lifting and moving items with a maximum weight of 80 lbs. a short distance, and pushing or pulling heavier items with the use of a cart or dolly
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Must be able to work independently, effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with staff, contractors, students, visitors and peers
• Ability to help direct other maintenance and custodial staff as needed
• Must have a valid driver's license with good driving record
• Reliability, dependability, and punctuality are expected
