Pantry Coordinator
Location
Central Campus, 830 N 19th Street, Milwaukee, WI.
Work Schedule
Full‑time, Monday–Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm
Responsibilities
- Maintain proper inventory levels and perform physical inventories
- Acceptance of donations and deliveries and routine stocking utilizing FIFO (First‑In, First‑Out) method to ensure food quality and minimize waste
- Select and deliver food from the pantry to the kitchen and other areas of MRM
- Rotate stock in coolers and freezer while maintaining organization
- Maintain order and cleanliness of the pantry
- Fill out receipts for donated items
- Collaborate with kitchen and Distribution Center staff
- Adhere to health department standards, to include safe food handling and proper temperature controls
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous pantry or commercial kitchen experience preferred
- Knowledge of food and safety standards; ServSafe certification is beneficial
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is required to track & monitor freshness dates and shelve items with oldest at the front, newest in back
- Must be able to properly store food items (freezer/cooler/shelf)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines
- Exhibit courtesy, tact, and reasonable speed in performance of duties
- Computer literacy and the ability to navigate inventory tracking software
- Reliability, dependability, and punctuality are expected
- Must be able to handle physical workload – ability to stand for long periods of time, walking, stair climbing, kneeling, squatting, crouching, reaching, handling and gripping without difficulty, repetitive movement of both hands and arms, as well as frequent lifting or moving items with a maximum weight of 80lbs a short distance (ex: floor to shelf or cart), and pushing or pulling heavier items with the use of a cart or dolly.
