Job summary

Milwaukee Rescue Mission is seeking a Pantry Coordinator to manage pantry inventory, accept donations, retrieve and deliver items to kitchens, and ensure proper food safety practices in a faith-based community setting.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to work full-time on-site, and adherence to health and safety standards while supporting the mission's commitments.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous pantry or commercial kitchen experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of food and safety standards; ServSafe certification is beneficial.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is required to track & monitor freshness dates and shelve items with oldest at the front, newest in back.
  • Must be able to properly store food items (freezer/cooler/shelf).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
  • Exhibit courtesy, tact, and reasonable speed in performance of duties.
  • Computer literacy and the ability to navigate inventory tracking software.
  • Reliability, dependability, and punctuality are expected.
  • Must be able to handle physical workload – ability to stand for long periods of time, walking, stair climbing, kneeling, squatting, crouching, reaching, handling and gripping without difficulty, repetitive movement of both hands and arms, as well as frequent lifting or moving items with a maximum weight of 80lbs a short distance (ex: floor to shelf or cart), and pushing or pulling heavier items with the use of a cart or dolly.
  • A workplace demeanor consistent with a Christian church environment: civil, respectful, polite, and responsive.
  • Be in agreement with and subscribe to the MRM Statement of Faith and the MRM Statement of Biblical Convictions
  • Be a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is evident in personal testimony and Christian conduct
  • Pass a pre‑employment background check and drug test

Work Schedule
