Job summary

Flaherty & Collins Properties is seeking a Maintenance Technician at Emerald Pointe in South Bend, IN. You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, and promptly address resident requests to keep the property in top condition.

You’ll inspect properties, coordinate with supervisors, and assist with turnovers. Weekend work may be required, and safety standards must be met. A high school diploma is required, with HVAC certifications a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• HVAC/EPA certifications or similar credentials are a plus.
• Hands-on maintenance experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on property systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems as needed.
• Address resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Conduct property inspections to identify maintenance needs proactively.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager to prioritize and complete work orders.
• Assist with apartment turnovers, ensuring units are move-in ready.
• Perform snow and ice removal and participate in on-call rotation; weekend work may be required.
