Job summary

Bozzuto is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Portland, OR to perform preventative maintenance, resolve HVAC/electrical/plumbing issues, and prepare vacant units for move-ins. The role emphasizes resident service, safety, and on-call availability to handle after-hours emergencies.

The position requires hands-on trades experience, good communication, and the ability to work weekends or evenings as needed, with on-site duties at our properties.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance or an education in the trades.
• Beginner to intermediate proficiency in HVAC, electrical and plumbing and appliance repair.
• Availability for emergency situations at the property, including an on-call rotation.
• Ability to lift 25–50 pounds frequently and 10–20 pounds constantly.
• Reliable transportation to work and to respond to on-call emergencies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional appearance and comfort with various software and apps.
• Service mindset and a drive to learn.

Responsibilities

• Showing care and concern for residents through service ticket resolution and preventative maintenance.
• Resolving maintenance issues in HVAC, electrical, plumbing and appliance repair.
• Preparing vacant apartments for move-in through turn-over repairs and improvements.
• Preserving the building's beauty and community safety through general upkeep and grounds maintenance.
• Providing residents with outstanding customer service.
• Working weekends or evenings and being on call for after-hours emergencies.
