Job summary

Seaboard Foods is seeking a Maintenance Team Member in the Hennessey and Fairview locations to maintain and repair structures and equipment across our production facilities.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot systems, and use a range of tools. Welding and on-call duties may be required. A two-year technical degree or related experience is preferred, with a valid driver's license and ability to meet DOT physical requirements.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or GED preferred; or 1–3 months experience or equivalent training.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and work orders.
• Ability to use basic math in practical situations.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect systems including feed, water, recycle, ventilation, and penning for animal facilities.
• Use tools from hand and power tools to precision testing devices.
• Follow work orders to determine maintenance or replacement needs.
• Welding of equipment and fabrications as needed.
• On-call for emergency maintenance.

JOB PURPOSE

We have an excitingMaintenance Team Memberopportunity in our Hennessey and Fairview locations. TheMaintenance Team Member assists in maintaining and repairing the physical structures of buildings by performing the following duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect, for the following but not limited to automated feed systems, fresh water systems, recycle systems, cool cells, ventilation, controllers, and penning for animal production facilities sites to ensure operations run efficiently and effectively.
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Follow work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment require replacement, repair or maintenance.
• Welding of buildings equipment including load out chutes, and fabrications of some penning or gating.
• Must be on call available for emergency situations.

REQUIREMENTS

• Two-year technical degree or greater, High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months experience or training; or combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and work orders. Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Must possess a current valid driver’s license, acceptable MVR, and ability to pass DOT physical and obtain medical card
• Maintenance experience preferred
