State of Indiana is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and grounds at Indiana Women’s Prison in Indianapolis. The role offers steady hours, strong safety practices, and hands-on experience, with potential advancement into supervisory roles.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of electrical systems, carpentry, plumbing and painting trades.
• Ability to plan, schedule and supervise job sites.
• Ability to fill in for other foreman to ensure operation of the department.
• Ability to read blueprints and remediation plans.
• Knowledge of OSHA, MSDS, safety precautions in trades.
• Ability to estimate project proposals in equipment, hours and costs.
• Ability to endure exposure to inclement weather.
• Ability to delegate work and manage workflow.
• Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Solicit cost estimates or cost proposals.
• Estimate costs and work hours for maintenance projects.
• Oversee and participate in preventive maintenance and repairs of facilities.
• Maintain accountability of materials, tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements and procedures.
• Supervise employees and provide coaching for development.
• Set expectations and evaluate performance to meet deadlines.
