Job summary

The State of Indiana seeks a Maintenance Technician at Wabash Valley Correctional Facility in Carlisle, IN. You will support plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and grounds maintenance with modern equipment and training provided.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of electrical systems, carpentry, plumbing and painting trades.
• Ability to plan, schedule and supervise job sites.
• Ability to read, analyze blueprints and other remediation plans.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and safety procedures for trades.
• Ability to plan and estimate project proposals in terms of equipment, hours and costs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preventive maintenance and repairs of facilities.
• Maintain accountability of materials, tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements for self and team.
• Recruit, onboard and train employees; provide ongoing development.
• Set expectations and evaluate performance; ensure quality and deadlines.
• Workday attendance at assigned worksite is required.
