Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. is hiring a Maintenance Technician for the Coatings Division in Houston, TX. The role requires assisting with preventive and repair maintenance, learning basic metal fabrication, and working safely with PPE in a non-temperature-controlled environment.

Shift: 1st Shift (Mon-Fri, 5:00 a.m.–1:45 p.m.) with compensation starting at $25.50+ per hour based on experience. 0-1 year of experience and basic MS Office skills are expected, with travel up to 2% for at other plant

Qualifications

• 0-1 year of relevant experience.
• Mechanical aptitude and desire to learn.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varied conditions.
• Stand/walk ~75%, bend/kneel ~10%, climb ~5%.
• Able to be trained to operate forklifts, cranes and safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical work and basic metal fabrication.
• Communicate with maintenance and production teams via email, phone, and in person.
• Operate gauging equipment like tape measures and calipers.
• Maintain tools and equipment and keep records of repairs.
• Learn to operate forklifts, aerial platforms and bridge cranes.
• Follow safety procedures including PPE and Arc Flash safety.
• Perform Lock-out/Tag-out training and safety compliance.
