Job summary

Valmont Industries in Houston, TX seeks a Plant Cleanup associate for the Coatings Division. The role preps products for the galvanizing process, hangs angle on spreader bars, and supports general plant cleanup and housekeeping.

You will move steel pieces by hand, operate a small forklift, assist with chemical steps and facilities maintenance, and help maintain a safe, clean work environment. High School diploma or GED and ability to lift 50 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• The ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
• Ability to communicate problems or needs to supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds from ground to shoulder height or higher.
• Must stand for long periods in an open air environment with PPE.
• High safety awareness at all times.
• High School Diploma or GED; forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Move lightweight steel pieces by hand around the plant and yard.
• Overall plant clean-up of exterior and interior bays.
• Assist in general plant clean up and housekeeping tasks.
• Operate a small forklift as needed.
• Dump wire hoppers, trash hoppers and wood hoppers.
• Assist chemical technician with transitions and chemical additions.
• Assist with facilities maintenance and storm water management.
• Support with drainage, cleaning and other duties to maintain a safe site.
