Job summary

Hunter Douglas, Inc. is seeking a maintenance technician to perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, and assist in building production equipment according to blueprints.

The role requires PLC experience, HVAC maintenance skills, and the ability to read schematics. The candidate will collaborate with engineers and other maintenance staff to keep equipment running efficiently.

Qualifications

• Two years technical trade school and four years practical experience, or six years practical experience in maintaining disciplines.
• Prior experience in PLCs, PLC programming, and ladder logic.
• Experience with HVAC maintenance, troubleshooting and testing.
• Work experience with electrical wiring of mechanical equipment.
• Solid knowledge of electrical circuits, simple relay logic, 24-volt systems.
• Solid knowledge of the proper functioning and repair of AC/DC motors.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Responds to work orders describing electrical and/or mechanical problems; communicates with operators and other technicians to diagnose issues.
• Trouble shoots problems and restores equipment to service quickly; may weld parts as needed.
• Performs preventative maintenance on production equipment as scheduled.
• Assists in building production equipment from blueprints and schematics.
• Interprets blueprints to assemble parts and suggests design changes.
• Maintains clean shop area and inventories repair parts.
