Job summary

Bell Partners seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of interior and exterior maintenance duties across our communities in the Washington, DC area. You will work under the Maintenance Supervisor to address repairs, perform preventive maintenance, and keep properties safe and welcoming for residents.

The role requires 1–3 years of maintenance experience and basic skills in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• High School degree or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of maintenance experience in a similar facility.
• Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
• HVAC, EPA, and/or CPO certifications may be required in many communities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Availability to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Always show respect for residents and staff, providing excellent customer service.
• Perform routine interior and exterior maintenance and equipment upkeep as scheduled.
• Respond to repair requests and maintenance concerns from residents and staff.
• Report equipment malfunctions and hazards to the Maintenance Supervisor promptly.
• Maintain resident privacy and obtain proper authority before entering apartments.
• Ensure maintenance items are stored safely to prevent injuries.
• Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Work with vendors for landscaping, painting, and asphalt tasks as instructed.
• Follow all safety/OSHA requirements.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
