Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Valparaiso is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep guest rooms and common areas in top condition. You will handle routine maintenance, respond quickly to issues, and support preventive programs to ensure safety and guest comfort.

Ideal candidates bring basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical knowledge, plus the ability to use hand tools and diagnostic equipment. Weekend/evening shifts may be required for this role.

Qualifications

• Prior maintenance or facilities experience.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to use hand tools and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Daily upkeep: Perform routine maintenance and repair duties to ensure rooms, common areas, and equipment function properly.
• Troubleshooting: Respond to maintenance requests involving HVAC, plumbing, lighting, furniture, and appliances.
• Preventive maintenance: Assist with ongoing maintenance schedules to prevent equipment failure and keep systems running efficiently.
• Safety first: Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with local codes and brand standards.
• Collaborate: Work with housekeeping and front office teams to resolve issues and keep the property guest-ready.
