Urschel Laboratories, Inc. seeks a dependable Maintenance Technician to join the Grand Gardner Hotel team in downtown Valparaiso, Indiana. The role supports upkeep of guest rooms, public spaces, building systems, and grounds, under the Facilities Manager’s guidance.

The ideal candidate is team-oriented, detail-focused, and capable of handling multiple tasks. At least one year of maintenance experience with carpentry, plumbing, painting, and general maintenance is desirable; tool use is required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of maintenance experience.
• Basic working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, painting, and general building maintenance.
• Experience operating hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repair work throughout the hotel.
• Complete basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and equipment maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues and communicate repair needs effectively.
• Inspect lighting, fixtures, signs, and other building components to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Support preventative maintenance activities and property improvement projects.
• Deliver service in a professional manner while interacting with guests and team members.
• Work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
