Job summary

U.S. Waffle Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Hazelwood, MO to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment in a food processing facility. You will read blueprints, perform preventive maintenance, and support safety and quality programs while ensuring on-time equipment performance.

This full-time hourly position reports to the Maintenance Manager and requires 40 hours per week with potential extra shifts and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, schematics (including electrical), wiring diagrams, manuals.
• Disassemble mechanical equipment, replace worn parts and reassemble.
• Test major subsystems to locate problems with specialized equipment.
• Fabricate replacement parts requiring welding, cutting, or sheet metal work.
• Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical systems and install new equipment.
• Install, troubleshoot and maintain electrical controls/components per specs and safety policies.
• Review work orders, determine tools, time, parts and manpower needed.
• Maintain records and logs of activities and maintenance.
• On-call availability 24/7; participate in plant safety and continuous improvement programs.
• Observe, report, and correct hazards; participate in QA investigations when applicable.
• Monitor wastewater equipment to meet regulatory requirements and keep area clean after work.
