Job summary

Cérélia North America in Hazelwood, MO, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment in a food processing environment. You will perform preventive maintenance, read blueprints, and support safety and quality programs.

This role requires OSHA, FDA, USDA knowledge, CMMS experience, and the ability to work 40 hours per week with on-call 24/7. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll collaborate with a cross-functional team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of related experience in industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing, or 4 years' direct experience in industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing maintenance environment.
• Technical or vocational diploma or associate degree preferred.
• Ability to function in a team and interact with all levels including outside contractors.
• Ability to handle stress and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Operate forklift, Genie lift, scissor lift, or other PIT equipment.
• Experience with High-Speed Packaging Machinery and industrial PLC systems.
• Familiarity with sanitary environments is desired.
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems and control systems.
• Read and follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CMMS software experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review work orders to determine tools, equipment, time, manpower, parts, and supplies needed.
• Respond to crisis calls with basic tools and equipment.
• Read blueprints, schematics (including electrical), wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Perform preventive maintenance and install new equipment and utilities.
• Repair and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems in a food manufacturing setting.
• Fabricate replacement parts using welding or sheet metal work.
• Maintain records, logs, and reports of maintenance activities.
• Comply with FDA, USDA, OSHA, GMP and other safety policies.
