Job summary

Volunteers of America-Texas in Austin, TX is seeking a maintenance technician to support a range of facility tasks on-site. The role involves repair work on HVAC units (including PTAC), electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and routine maintenance.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with at least one year in a maintenance-related field, or a maintenance trade/vocational certificate, and a valid Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus one year of relevant maintenance experience.
• Certificate from a maintenance trade/vocational school.
• Valid Texas Driver's License and ability to be insured.

Responsibilities

• Performs repair and service work on air conditioners and related systems.
• Performs minor electrical repairs and maintenance.
• Performs plumbing repairs as needed.
• Performs carpentry, painting, and general maintenance tasks.
• Completes work orders and maintenance paperwork in a timely manner.
