Job summary

DFA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance, preventative maintenance, over-hauls, fabrication, welding, and electrical troubleshooting on production and packaging equipment in a manufacturing setting.

The role requires reading technical manuals and schematics, supporting new equipment installations, and assisting operators with training to minimize downtime. Strong safety discipline and collaboration with teams are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from trade school or technical school preferred in electrical, PLC/HMI, mechanical, welding/fabrication, refrigeration, plumbing, etc.
• 2 to 4 years of maintenance, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, computer-controlled equipment, PLC, and HVAC or related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience on a variety of equipment including lubricating, cleaning, material handling, motor control, relay control, process control and packaging equipment.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems preferred.
• Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and/or repairs on production, processing, and packaging equipment and related systems, following all safety procedures.
• Perform preventative maintenance; inspect equipment for reliability and performance.
• Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders.
• Support installation of new equipment.
• Assist operators with training or troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
• Document all work orders and maintain accurate records per SOPs.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, meters, and material handling equipment safely.
• Maintain communication with other departments and management about issues affecting efficiency.
• Stay up to date on new products, equipment, technology, and techniques.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist in implementation.
• Anticipate parts requirements and manage purchasing per procedures.
