Job summary

Respiratory and Rehab of RI in Coventry, RI seeks a full-time Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance Director in keeping the building safe and in good repair for residents, staff, and visitors.

You will complete work orders, perform basic plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and drywall tasks, inspect equipment, and prep rooms for new admissions. Training is provided and hospital/clinic experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ year of building maintenance or repair experience.
• Basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry knowledge.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools safely.
• Dependable, detail-oriented; able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Healthcare or nursing home maintenance experience is a plus, but not required. Training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Inspect and repair resident beds, wheelchairs, call lights and other equipment.
• Prep resident rooms for new admissions.
• Assist with fire safety checks, generator testing and emergency preparedness.
• Change HVAC filters and help maintain heating and cooling systems.
• Maintain grounds and walkways, including snow and ice removal.
• Follow oxygen safety and infection control practices throughout the building.
