Job summary

The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI seeks a skilled maintenance technician to repair and service hospital machinery including stretchers, wheelchairs, laundry gear, doors, and vehicles. You will fabricate parts, troubleshoot control circuits, weld, braze and operate metalworking tools.

Work on evening and night shifts with snow team duties; maintain safety standards and documentation. Must have strong mechanical aptitude, basic computer skills, and 3 years related experience.

Qualifications

• Analytical ability to plan, schedule and coordinate work projects.
• Basic computer skills with keyboard and maintenance software.
• Ability to read blueprints, design parts, and troubleshoot equipment.

Responsibilities

• Observe equipment in operation to determine cause of trouble.
• Repair malfunctioning equipment by dismantling and replacing parts.
• Install and test functional and structural parts; adjust devices and control instruments.
• Weld, braze, solder; operate metalworking tools (shear, lathe).
• Perform maintenance on laundry machinery, doors, chairs, carts, vehicles and snow equipment.

Education

High school diploma + 1-2 years trade schooling in welding/electrical/mechanics
