Job summary

• Minimum of 2 years related maintenance mechanic experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, shop machines and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow safety rules for manufacturing environments.
• Repair and install electrical equipment including generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, motors, and conduit systems.
• Use welding equipment for layout and fitting, including making jigs and fixtures.
• Diagnose and correct electrical faults using standard load calculations.
• Perform inspections to ensure machinery produces quality products per orders.
• Follow preventive maintenance program and conduct equipment inspections.
• Maintain buildings and perform minor repairs.
• Notify management about major repairs to lighting, HVAC equipment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and may take on extra projects from the Team Leader.
• Work with CMMS system for maintenance management.

Base pay starts at $25.00 per hour

Day Shift hours: 6:00AM - 2:30PM, with potential for overtime.

• Understands and follows all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and around a manufacturing environment.
• Assists with repairing and installing various electrical equipment including generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, and conduit systems. Works with blueprints drawings, layouts, verbal instructions and other specifications.
• Uses various welding equipment (arc, acetylene, brazing, flame cutting) for lay out and fitting, including making jigs and fixtures.
• Diagnoses and corrects trouble in the electrical system or equipment, applying standard computations related to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
• Performs visual and mechanical inspections to confirm machinery is in good condition, ensuring the production of finished quality products according to order specifications.
• Follows the preventive maintenance program as established by the company and conducts equipment inspections, taking preventive action when necessary.
• Maintains buildings, performing minor repairs.
• Notifies management regarding the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
• Contributes to continuous improvement efforts in work area.
• May be assigned additional projects or duties as designated by Team Leader.
• Must be able to work with CMMS-Computerized Maintenance Management System

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or recognized equivalent.
• Minimum of (2) two years related work experience in a maintenance mechanic function, or equivalent related experience.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in resolving unexpected events and circumstance.

• Ability to read different measuring devices (i.e. tape measure, protractor, micrometer).
• Must be able to read blueprints and electrical schematics

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Standing, walking, lifting 50 lbs. or more, pulling, pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, crouching, near acuity,
• Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts

This is a position with potential overtime. The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year.
