Job summary

Great Lakes Christian Homes, part of Greencroft Communities, is hiring a Maintenance Technician to help keep our campus safe, comfortable, and welcoming for residents and staff. The role covers general maintenance, repairs, and move coordination.

The position requires hands-on problem solving, reliability, and a willingness to work on a team in a nonprofit housing community. On-site hours run Monday–Friday with every 4th weekend on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• General knowledge of building and equipment maintenance.
• Valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of basic building codes and safety practices.
• Ability to use common maintenance tools and equipment.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and frequently lift up to 10 pounds.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.
• HVAC, plumbing, electrical or related trades experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance requests and preventative maintenance.
• Repair and maintain buildings, equipment, and facilities.
• Patch and paint resident rooms and common areas.
• Perform carpet cleaning and floor care as needed.
• Maintain lawns, landscaping, and outdoor areas.
• Perform snow removal and keep walkways safe.
• Identify and report safety hazards and maintenance concerns.
• Stock and organize maintenance supplies.
• Assist with equipment and resident moves when needed.
• Coordinate with contractors and team members on projects.
• Assist with move-ins and complete maintenance on schedule.
• Maintain a clean, safe campus and provide friendly service.
• Participate in every 4th weekend on-call rotation.
